#OOTD Winter White & Nude

If you haven't noticed already I love layers, bodysuits and mid or hi-rise jeans. I literally have like a 25" inseam and am only 4'11 3/4" tall. (When your under 5' the extra 3/4" counts big time.) I have chubby little baby legs, tiny t-rex arms and tummy fat I like to try and hide. Hence my love for all the things aforementioned.

I like my shirts to be tucked in somehow, since my legs are SO short it helps to add length to my body. It also happens to be very slimming! When we gain weight we tend to want to wear baggy loose fitting clothes to disguise or new found fluffyness. I say NO WAY! That just makes you look frumpier! I am also somewhere between Pear & Hourglass shaped, so this combo of  tight fitting jeans and undershirt with a structured top is my fave.

PS. How cute are these clip in bangs?! They are my new fave, a no regrets haircut! They are from Luxury For Princess!
PSS. Forgive my messy house, this was a "work" day and my house got OUT OF CONTROL. I can't wait until we get the renovation done this summer so we have 2 extra bedrooms! Aka a spare bedroom and home office for me!

Lancome Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick Foundation Review

Whats up guys!
I have something really important to tell you.......

I may have found the most beautiful foundation. Of. All. Time.
I know, pretty important stuff right?

So today we are going to be talking about Lancome Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick Foundation.
I received this foundation in the mail and could not wait to try it out. I am a really big fan of cream and stick foundations, especially as I've gotten a little older. *Sighhhhh.

So Lancome claims the Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick is a 24hr wear, high pigment, matte & silky smooth. For me the foundation applies like a dream, it doesn't cling to my texture. Offers medium/full coverage and had a very natural satin matte finish. I would describe the finish as your skin but WAY better. It also feels feather light! It is NOT 24hr wear though, I got 9hrs, with good longevity considering I didn't prime or set anything.

The Lancome Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick runs for $42 at Sephora, contains .31 oz, which is pretty standard for a pan stick foundation, and it has 30 shades in the range.

Top-Bottom Lancome 320 Bisque W, Loreal Pro Matte 104 Golden Beige, Dior Forever 30, Loreal True Match W5, MUF HD Y325, Estee Lauder DW 252w Rattan, Cover FX Total Cover G40

Will this foundation work for you?
  • Young/Teen Skin- Yes, I think this would be IDEAL for you, because it comes in a stick form its portable for your school bag or purse, and the coverage is very buildable (I am not a fan of FULL coverage on beautiful young skin) and because its a stick form you can also use it to easily spot conceal any blemishes!
  • Mature Skin- Yes, creasing is always what comes to mind first when I consider mature skin, I didn't have any while testing this foundation  (and that's without primer/setting powder). I think the lightweight but high coverage formula will help to give you coverage to even out discoloration but won't settle into fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Normal Skin- Yes, total no brainer. If you like a very natural looking base. You will really love this. I am going to pick up a lighter/darker shade to use them for HAC.
  • Oily Skin- Yes BUT with a couple tweaks. You will need to prime or set. I did get pretty dewy when I was wearing it after about 5 hours, mostly on the pads of my cheeks and center of the forehead. That being said, I think the way the foundation sat (on my skin) and felt it would be really worth it to give it a shot or get a sample!
  • Dry Skin- Yes, Yes, Yes! I really loved how this looked on my skin, I tend to have dry texture around my nose and outer cheek/jaw area due to my retin-a regimen. This did not cling or enhance any issues and in fact it smoothed out my pores actually making my texture look better without any primer!
  • Acne Prone Skin- Yes, I think this would look great on acne prone skin because it is great coverage but also forgiving on texture. SIDE NOTE- make sure you are properly sanitizing the foundation stick OR applying it to the back of your hand or fingertips to avoid going over active blemishes and getting bacteria on your product. To sanitize just pour some rubbing alchol on a cotton round a gently rub the foundation stick on it to sanitize.
 PRO'S
  • Beautiful natural looking finish
  • Lightweight feel
  • Great buildable foundation and coverage, would be good for photography
  • Oil-free, fragrance-free & noncomedonegenic
  • Sits nicely on texture
 CON'S
  •  None? That I love it so much I wish it came in a full 1.0oz so I would get more at a time?
I really do love this foundation. What is your current favorite base product?

#OOTD: Casual Lunch With The Girls

I wore this look out to lunch and coffee with my sister, these photo's are definitely taken post lunch so I have a "food baby" lol. Who cares, Am I right ladies!? Life is too short to worry about looking "fat" all the time. My new philosophy is, if I feel good, then I look good.

I really REALLY love anything that is high waisted. The cut is so feminine and flattering. It doesn't cut you off at the hips creating ugly "muffin top". Ewwww. I also think that high waisted jeans etc offer a little bit more tummy control (especially if its real cotton denim without stretch!

LOREAL INFALLIBLE TOTAL COVER FOUNDATION REVIEW

The most recent edition to Loreal's foundation line up is the LOREAL INFALLIBLE TOTAL COVER FOUNDATION. I have gotten a chance to try this over the last 2 weeks, sum up all of my thoughts on the foundation and am ready to talk to you about it!

I picked up the Loreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation at Walgreens for $12.99. There are 12 shades in the range. The range (if judging by what the packaging show's) and my personal experience tends to run neutral warm, my shade 305 Natural Beige looked very warm in the packaging but ended up being slightly ashy on my skin due to it's neutral slightly green undertone in the product itself. From what I have gathered from other blogger reviews the packaging shows a slightly different color then what comes inside the tube itself.

The packaging is a squeeze tube which I think is very appropriate for the formula, being that it is so SO thick.

LOREAL'S CLAIMS
  • NATURAL FINISH
  • 24 HR WEAR
  • AIR LIGHT FEEL
  • FULL COVERAGE
Just a bit about me and my skin type! I CURRENTLY have very dry skin. I treat my hormonal cystic acne with a combo of an oral birth control pill (lol) and Retin-A 0.025%. I have some dry texture area's on my face as well as enlarged pores across my cheeks and nose + hormonal redness and hyper pigmentation scars.

The formula for this foundation is incredible thick! In comparison it reminds me of Maybelline's Dream Mousse (in the older pump version), Dream Velvet (loreal with more coverage) or Revlon Colorstay Whipped (loreal isn't as smoothe or long wearing). It also has a very "natural" finish,  it is neither fully matte or dewy but somewhere in between. It also did NOT oxidize at all on me.

When applying I noticed that it clung to dryness. The foundation sets down to something like a cream to powder finish foundation will. That being said it does tend to sit on top of the skin and has some shift to it. It will easily transfer onto clothing or wipe away if you touch your face in any way. However it does feel incredibly lightweight and comfortable on the skin.

After 7 hours the foundation still felt comfortable. It had not "broken down" on my skin but it did settle into laugh lines and catch on dryness easily. (Although I don't have fine lines I imagine it would emphasize those as well.)

This foundation is going to best suit those with normal, oily or dry skin with little to no texture issues. I don't feel this foundation will work well for those with texture issues like healing blemishes, acne and may not suit those with heavily lined skin or very mature skin.

It will however work nicely for "filling" in enlarged pores if you like that sort of thing! The foundation is formulated with dimethicone which is commonly used in pore filling primers, it is (in my opinion) what gives this formula its thick velvety texture. It's kind of like a pore filling primer and foundation in one.

I neither love or hate this foundation. I don't see myself reaching for it on a regular basis but I am also not going to tell you not to try it! It just doesn't work the best for me and my expectations. I much prefer both the LOREAL INFALLIBLE PRO MATTE & LOREAL INFALLIBLE PRO GLOW over the new TOTAL COVER.

Meal Planning + Grocery Haul!

Hey my beautiful friends!

I had such a wonderful response on my YouTube Channel over my more Family/Lifestyle/Mommy CLEAN WITH ME video that I really want to start doing more "home" related content! Which is why we are here today! I had gotten several requests to do a Meal Planning video! So lets get started!

I like to start my meal planning on Wednesdays, my local grocery store puts out its internet sales ad every Wednesday and sales ads are SO IMPORTANT when trying to save a buck on you grocery bill.

Here is my step by step "game plan" for my meal planning....
  1. Check the sales ads, make a note of items on sale that would be great to incorporate into dinners.... ex. family packs of meat, condiments on sale like pasta sauce, cheeses etc.
  2. Check you fridge, pantry & household supplies for "staple" items that need to be replenished....aka milk, bread, sugar, ketchup, garbage bags, toilet paper. Items your home needs to function but not necessarily required for you nightly dinners.
  3. Check your fridge/pantry for items that need to be used up! Left over chicken breasts or maybe some produce that will spoil soon.
  4. Compile a list of items you want to purchase from the sales ad & items that need to be used from your home.
  5. Once you have your list browse sites like pinterest, cook books & magazines to find recipes that will use the items you want/need to use. Keep in mind to try to pick meals that have overlapping ingredients. That way you only purchase and ingredient once but use it twice. Example- fajitas & stir fry...both use items like onions, peppers, snow peas, red pepper flakes. By making one purchase and splitting it between two meal you save a bit of money. This doesn't always work when buying produce by the lb. except when it is on sale but you understand the idea!
  6. When making your weekly list make sure to use items up earlier in the week that will spoil faster, especially produce items. If you have a recipe that calls for alot of fresh produce like a stir fry it might be best to do it on the first day not the seventh!
  7. Make your grocery list as you choose your recipes. Most of us have a good idea of what our grocery stores layout is. Sort your list by area. I always place my produce at the beginning of my list, frozen foods in the middle and dairy at the end because that is the way my grocery store is laid out. Keeps your from having to back track for a missed item!
Don't forget to keep a couple premade prepared items on hand. A frozen lasagna or fixings for a easy spaghetti dinner will keep you from having to run for takeout when time gets tight! It happens to me all the time, getting distracted with the kids homework and realizing I should have had dinner started 45 minutes ago, not enough time to get it ready....improvise and save it for tomorrow. Make something else you have easily on hand!

Here is my recipe list/links for the week!

Friday- Brinner
Saturday- Pork Chops, Hot Bacon Spinache Salad
Sunday- Whole Roast Chicken, Roasted Root Veggies
Monday- Chicken Tikka Masala
Tuesday- Asiago Chicken Penne w/Sundried Tomato
Wednesday- Chicken in Lemon Cream Sauce over Orzo + Zucchini
Thursday-  Pork Chops + Apple Onion Sauce w/leftover grain/veg
