LOREAL INFALLIBLE TOTAL COVER FOUNDATION REVIEW

The most recent edition to Loreal's foundation line up is the LOREAL INFALLIBLE TOTAL COVER FOUNDATION. I have gotten a chance to try this over the last 2 weeks, sum up all of my thoughts on the foundation and am ready to talk to you about it!

I picked up the Loreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation at Walgreens for $12.99. There are 12 shades in the range. The range (if judging by what the packaging show's) and my personal experience tends to run neutral warm, my shade 305 Natural Beige looked very warm in the packaging but ended up being slightly ashy on my skin due to it's neutral slightly green undertone in the product itself. From what I have gathered from other blogger reviews the packaging shows a slightly different color then what comes inside the tube itself.

The packaging is a squeeze tube which I think is very appropriate for the formula, being that it is so SO thick.

LOREAL'S CLAIMS
  • NATURAL FINISH
  • 24 HR WEAR
  • AIR LIGHT FEEL
  • FULL COVERAGE
Just a bit about me and my skin type! I CURRENTLY have very dry skin. I treat my hormonal cystic acne with a combo of an oral birth control pill (lol) and Retin-A 0.025%. I have some dry texture area's on my face as well as enlarged pores across my cheeks and nose + hormonal redness and hyper pigmentation scars.

The formula for this foundation is incredible thick! In comparison it reminds me of Maybelline's Dream Mousse (in the older pump version), Dream Velvet (loreal with more coverage) or Revlon Colorstay Whipped (loreal isn't as smoothe or long wearing). It also has a very "natural" finish,  it is neither fully matte or dewy but somewhere in between. It also did NOT oxidize at all on me.

When applying I noticed that it clung to dryness. The foundation sets down to something like a cream to powder finish foundation will. That being said it does tend to sit on top of the skin and has some shift to it. It will easily transfer onto clothing or wipe away if you touch your face in any way. However it does feel incredibly lightweight and comfortable on the skin.

After 7 hours the foundation still felt comfortable. It had not "broken down" on my skin but it did settle into laugh lines and catch on dryness easily. (Although I don't have fine lines I imagine it would emphasize those as well.)

This foundation is going to best suit those with normal, oily or dry skin with little to no texture issues. I don't feel this foundation will work well for those with texture issues like healing blemishes, acne and may not suit those with heavily lined skin or very mature skin.

It will however work nicely for "filling" in enlarged pores if you like that sort of thing! The foundation is formulated with dimethicone which is commonly used in pore filling primers, it is (in my opinion) what gives this formula its thick velvety texture. It's kind of like a pore filling primer and foundation in one.

I neither love or hate this foundation. I don't see myself reaching for it on a regular basis but I am also not going to tell you not to try it! It just doesn't work the best for me and my expectations. I much prefer both the LOREAL INFALLIBLE PRO MATTE & LOREAL INFALLIBLE PRO GLOW over the new TOTAL COVER.

Meal Planning + Grocery Haul!

Hey my beautiful friends!

I had such a wonderful response on my YouTube Channel over my more Family/Lifestyle/Mommy CLEAN WITH ME video that I really want to start doing more "home" related content! Which is why we are here today! I had gotten several requests to do a Meal Planning video! So lets get started!

I like to start my meal planning on Wednesdays, my local grocery store puts out its internet sales ad every Wednesday and sales ads are SO IMPORTANT when trying to save a buck on you grocery bill.

Here is my step by step "game plan" for my meal planning....
  1. Check the sales ads, make a note of items on sale that would be great to incorporate into dinners.... ex. family packs of meat, condiments on sale like pasta sauce, cheeses etc.
  2. Check you fridge, pantry & household supplies for "staple" items that need to be replenished....aka milk, bread, sugar, ketchup, garbage bags, toilet paper. Items your home needs to function but not necessarily required for you nightly dinners.
  3. Check your fridge/pantry for items that need to be used up! Left over chicken breasts or maybe some produce that will spoil soon.
  4. Compile a list of items you want to purchase from the sales ad & items that need to be used from your home.
  5. Once you have your list browse sites like pinterest, cook books & magazines to find recipes that will use the items you want/need to use. Keep in mind to try to pick meals that have overlapping ingredients. That way you only purchase and ingredient once but use it twice. Example- fajitas & stir fry...both use items like onions, peppers, snow peas, red pepper flakes. By making one purchase and splitting it between two meal you save a bit of money. This doesn't always work when buying produce by the lb. except when it is on sale but you understand the idea!
  6. When making your weekly list make sure to use items up earlier in the week that will spoil faster, especially produce items. If you have a recipe that calls for alot of fresh produce like a stir fry it might be best to do it on the first day not the seventh!
  7. Make your grocery list as you choose your recipes. Most of us have a good idea of what our grocery stores layout is. Sort your list by area. I always place my produce at the beginning of my list, frozen foods in the middle and dairy at the end because that is the way my grocery store is laid out. Keeps your from having to back track for a missed item!
Don't forget to keep a couple premade prepared items on hand. A frozen lasagna or fixings for a easy spaghetti dinner will keep you from having to run for takeout when time gets tight! It happens to me all the time, getting distracted with the kids homework and realizing I should have had dinner started 45 minutes ago, not enough time to get it ready....improvise and save it for tomorrow. Make something else you have easily on hand!

Here is my recipe list/links for the week!

Friday- Brinner
Saturday- Pork Chops, Hot Bacon Spinache Salad
Sunday- Whole Roast Chicken, Roasted Root Veggies
Monday- Chicken Tikka Masala
Tuesday- Asiago Chicken Penne w/Sundried Tomato
Wednesday- Chicken in Lemon Cream Sauce over Orzo + Zucchini
Thursday-  Pork Chops + Apple Onion Sauce w/leftover grain/veg

Casual Pop Of COPPER FOTD

I have a little #throwbackthursday #FOTD action for you guy's! PS this is one of my current Go-To all time favorite looks! Simple, Sexy (in my personal trying to be humble opinion) Easy & Effortless....okay maybe not EFFORTLESS...I mean there is winged liner & lashes involved.

  • BAREMINERALS Original Foundation in Light- buff in over top of your favorite day time moisturizer
  • MILANI BROW POMADE Dark Brown- great drugstore brow product, I try really REALLY hard not to create any crisp lines, I don't want cartoon brows. Quick short strokes is best!
  • BH COSMETICS Carli Bybel Palette- started by mixing the 2 mauves from the top row and blended them in the outer corner and through the crease, next using my finger tips I tapped theh gorgeous metallic shade on the other 2/3rds of the lid. I also smudged the chocolately brown on the lower lash line.
  • LOREAL VOLUMINOUS LINER Black- I created a simple flick and also SLIGHTLY elongated the inner corner....less is more.
  • URBAN DECAY 24/7 LINER Perversion (black)- tightline the upper lash line, waterline and smudge with the same brush you used for adding shadow to your lower lash line, and a little extra chocolate brown shadow for a seamless look.
  • SALON PERFECT 111- pop on your favorite set of lashes, for this look something fluffy, soft and slightly longer on the outer edge
  • BENEFIT BOXED "BLUSH" HOOLA- I lightly contoured and bronzed beneath my cheekbones, sides of my nose and above my temples....you do what works for your face shape!
  • MAKEUP GEEK BLUSH Spell Bound- I love this soft pink blush, to be honest I always go heavy on the blush, I like to apply it directly to the apple of my cheek and work back towards my hairline....technically you should do the exact oppisite, start at the hairline and work towards the apple BUT I like the make my apple/cheek look fuller....because I'm weird.
  • OFRA COSMETICS X DUPETHAT You Dew You- sweep your favorite highlight over the tops of your cheek bones, if you have texture issues try to hug the eye area more so then the top of the cheek, bridge of the nose if ya like, cupids bow, brow arch and even above the brow!
  • OFRA COSMETICS LIQUID LIPSTICK Cancun- I love a good berry fushchia, slap a little of your favorite on....if you own cancun bust that baby out. I love it! Some other good options.... MAC Girl About Town, Colourpop The Rabbit or I Heart This....

COLOURPOP FALL EDIT HAUL REVIEW + SWATCHES {Out & About + Up & Away}

colourpop up & away love bug calypso mama

My love for Colourpop runs deep. Affordable. Fabulous Packaging. Consistent quality. Love. It. All.

I snagged two of the Fall Edit gift sets because let's be real, the color selection was on point for fall AND you saved $3 by purchasing in a set....I am now regretting not getting extras for Christmas gifts! These keep going in and out of stock BUT  thats alright since all the shades are permanent and can be purchased seperately! Woohoo! To be honest, I really don't like Limited Edition stuff and rarely purchase it, I mean what's the point of loving something, raving about it and then not being able to talk to you guys about it since its no longer available for sale, like "Hey, I love this but sorry you can't have it!". Lame....and slightly asshole-ish. Moving on.....

The first beauty you see {above} the Up & Away Set is full of warm burnt orange fall sexy goodness. Their are two Ultra Mattes and an Ultra Satin. I love that each set I picked up (and every set they curate) has at least one nude....they always give such a great variety of shades! They should have named it the Sexy AF Pumpkin Spice set. Colourpop should totally hire me. LOL.

Crock Pot Asian Pork & Vegetables

I love any recipe that requires little to no prep, especially for a Monday night. Monday's are always our errand running day so I love to either do "Brinner" or Crock-Pot dinners.... PS I really love brinner, who doesn't love french toast and bacon?
